Today I am featuring the newest design called wintery blue with snowflake pattern. Outside the air is bitterly cold and we have had our share of snow thus far this winter. Though I am toasty warm inside I’m still creating this seasons’ new offerings to share.
It all started when my daughter and I were drawing snowflakes. Inspired by something we saw on Pinterest our art pads were coming up with a variety of styles of frosty snowflakes.
After the snowflake session there were too many to choose from for a new design. I chose two and used my iPad to draw them in digital form. I wanted a simple yet modern background and created a tri-blue pattern that would work well with cell phone cases, pillows and more. The result was what you see below.
I’m very pleased with this simplistic winter pattern. It does work well with many of the items I sell online. For example it was easy to create a custom iPhone case with a name you could change. To the right is the entire collection from Lasgalen Arts on Zazzle.com.
In the North winter is blue. Freshly fallen snow has blue overtones. Once the sky is lit the gradient blue is endless. The blue birds chest remains blue all throughout winter. When you miss the sun you feel very blue.
I’ve been thinking of changes, not because it is January but because of winter. Winter doesn’t always remind us to sleep, to hibernate as bears do. It reminds us that this is the time for action, for preparations to be made going forward. There are things in my life I’d like to change, goals I would like to see met are in motion this January. I hope to be sharing more of these changes soon with you.
It’s quite a process moving forward with new ideas. I’d very much like to hone in on how far I can take my printmaking experience. I’ve decided to explore more creative avenues starting with this medium. Who knows, perhaps I will be morphing into my own style and make something of it.
