It is the new year and time to take stock and think about the future of where my art is going. Part of the assessment is over and my muse compelled me to collect this pile of new canvases indicating I should use them.
Inspired by the great “bomb cyclone” of 2018 and the deep freeze which proceeded it, my first painting is this little winter folk art paining. The abstract artist in me wanted to represent the hills of snow with patches of gray, white and blue indicating distance. Honestly I had more fun making those patches which led me to believe the next painting would have them. Those little quaint Colonial homes are painted with classic America colors. The tall bare tree includes two cardinals of bright red.
Just for fun I’ve created a recipe template notebook with custom title and my little winter folk art painting on the covers. You can find this item in the Collection below.
